Do Web Surfers Pay Attention to Pay Per Click Advertising?

Published by Andy at 9:33 pm under Pay Per Clicks

The first questions our clients ask us when discussing a possible pay per click campaign is…

“Do people really click on those ads?”

To that we always answer, “People must be clicking them if this is the primary source of revenue for Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.”

According to the following article, nearly 88.5% of web surfers do not pay attention to paid advertising. This seems to be shockingly high, but you need to realize that the 11.5% who will click on your ad are a group of pre-qualified prospective clients who could be making you money. Also remember that 11.5% of ALL the web surfers in the world is quite a large number.

Do People Pay Attention To Pay Per Click Ads?

What do we mean by pre-qualified traffic? Pre-Qualified traffic means that surfers are landing on your website already having an idea of what you may be able to offer them. If you can prove once again that you can offer that service or product, you have a great chance of generating some business from them. The paid ad has shown to be a great way of grabbing surfers eyes away from those boring organic listings, and saying “Hey look over here… you were asking for somebody selling this product and we have it, come see for yourself!!”

That is the method behind paid advertising that really works. If it didn’t work, millions of advertisers wouldn’t be using it. Do not let articles such as the one above deter you from starting a paid ad campaign. If anything, let that article be assurance that people who have no intention of buying your product, will not click on your ad and charging your account.

If you can have a paid advertising professional set up your account for you, you will have a very focused set of campaigns, keywords, and ad text. When you have a quality, focused ppc campaign running, there is little concern about wasting money on poor quality clicks.

Do a search for your keywords and see who is advertising on the top and right hand side of Google. These people are taking business away from your website… business that could be yours as soon as today!
